Simtec Simmons

Simtec Simmons was a renowned American soul and funk musician active primarily during the 1960s and 1970s. He was best known as the founder of the band Simtec & Wylie, a duo he formed with Wylie Dixon, which achieved recognition for their gritty, raw vocal style. Their biggest hit, "Bootleggin'," is a testament to their distinctive blend of funk and soul, and is still considered a classic in the genre. Even though Simmons' mainstream success was relatively fleeting, his influence on the Chicago soul and funk scene was considerable, setting the stage for many artists who followed.
