Sonny Stitt

Sonny Stitt was a prominent American jazz saxophonist of the bebop era, renowned for his technical proficiency and compelling improvisations. His style was heavily influenced by Charlie Parker, to the point that he was often considered one of Parker's most faithful disciples. However, Stitt developed his own distinctive sound on the tenor saxophone, which set him apart from his contemporaries. His most significant works include "Stitt Plays Bird," a tribute to his primary influence, and his collaborations with fellow jazz luminaries such as Gene Ammons and Bud Powell.
