Southside Johnny & the Asbury Jukes are an American musical group from New Jersey, credited with popularizing the "Jersey Shore sound" — a blend of rock, soul, and R&B — alongside Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band. Formed in 1974, the band features frontman John Lyon, known as Southside Johnny, who offers distinctive, soulful vocals. Their influential works include the 1976 album "I Don't Want to Go Home," which was produced by Steven Van Zandt of the E Street Band. The band's significant contribution to American music extends over four decades with a discography that spans over twenty albums.
