Spacemen 3 was a British neo-psychedelic space rock band, formed in 1982 by Peter Kember (Sonic Boom) and Jason Pierce (J. Spaceman). Their music is characterized by minimalistic arrangements, drone-like compositions, and heavy elements of feedback, often exploring themes of drug use and spirituality. The band's significant works, including "The Perfect Prescription" and "Playing With Fire", have influenced many genres from shoegaze to Britpop. Although Spacemen 3 had a relatively short career, dissolving in 1991, their pioneering sound and exploratory approach have left an enduring impact in the music industry.
