Green Chri$tma$/ The Meaning Of Christmas

This 1958 parody of Christmas based on the Scrooge story from Charles Dickens is presented here in all its 6:50 glory. The anti-commercialization message about Christmas still rings true today, and the Scrooges he depicts still exist. The B side is, as the label says, "Stan Freberg Presents His Favorite Carols With The Jud Conlon Chorale and Billy May's Music." Note: This beautiful original pressing has the purple Capitol labels with silver print, which are so nearly flawless I'm grading them Mint. The vinyl grades Near Mint, with only very light signs of wear, and the audio is also a solid Near Mint, with only very unobtrusive surface noise occasionally audible. The very cool picture sleeve has very light staining, particularly noticeable on the back, which by the way consists of a lengthy discussion of satire in general and of this record's satire in particular.
