Steve Goodman

Steve Goodman was an American folk music singer-songwriter, known for his storytelling style and clever, humorous lyrics. His music was influenced by a broad spectrum of genres, including blues, country, and pop. Goodman's most renowned works are "City of New Orleans," which was famously covered by Arlo Guthrie and Willie Nelson, and "You Never Even Call Me by My Name," co-written with John Prine. Despite his early death from leukemia, Goodman's music had a significant influence on the 1970s folk scene and continues to be revered today.
