Sugar Bears

The Sugar Bears were a short-lived American bubblegum pop band formed in the early 1970s, primarily known for featuring a young Kim Carnes before her solo breakthrough. The group was created as a promotional gimmick for Super Sugar Crisp cereal, with their only album, "Presenting the Sugar Bears," included in boxes of the product. Their music was characterized by catchy, upbeat, and simplistic melodies typical of the bubblegum pop genre. Despite its commercial origins, the band had a minor hit with the song "You Are The One," showcasing Carnes' distinctive raspy vocals, which later became her signature sound in her solo career.
