The Blue-Belles

The Blue-Belles, originally formed in 1957, is an American girl group known for their harmonious rhythm and blues style. The group initially consisted of Patti LaBelle, Cindy Birdsong, Nona Hendryx, and Sarah Dash. They achieved significant recognition with their 1962 hit "I Sold My Heart to the Junkman", and later, under the name LaBelle, they created the iconic song "Lady Marmalade". The Blue-Belles were influential in the transition of doo-wop music into the soul music era, and their style often incorporated elements of gospel and funk.
