The Bobbettes were an American R&B girl group active during the late 1950s and 1960s, known for their harmonious vocal blend and doo-wop influenced style. The group, consisting of Emma Pought, Reather Dixon, Laura Webb, Helen Gathers, and Jannie Pought, made history in 1957 with their hit single "Mr. Lee," becoming the first all-female black group to reach the top 10 in the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Their sound was characterized by a mixture of pop and rhythm and blues, which played a significant role in paving the way for future generations of girl groups. Throughout their career, they released a number of influential works, including "Have Mercy Baby" and "I Don't Like It Like That."
