The Bongos were an American alternative rock band active during the 1980s. Originating from Hoboken, New Jersey, the band consisted of notable members Richard Barone, James Mastro, Rob Norris, and Frank Giannini. They were instrumental in the development of the 'Hoboken sound', a fusion of pop, punk, and rock music. Signature works include their debut album "Drums Along the Hudson" and their breakthrough song "Numbers With Wings", both of which showcase their distinctive melodic style and jangling guitar sound. Despite their relatively brief existence, The Bongos left a significant impact on the indie rock scene.
