The Buggles

The Buggles were an English new wave band known for their synth-pop sound, formed in 1977. The band consisted of Trevor Horn, Geoff Downes and Bruce Woolley; Horn and Downes later gained fame as part of the progressive rock band Yes. The Buggles are most recognized for their hit single "Video Killed the Radio Star", which was the first music video ever broadcast on MTV in 1981. Their distinctive blend of catchy pop and futuristic themes made a significant impression on the early 1980s new wave scene.
