The Cheers

The Cheers were an American vocal group active during the mid-1950s. Best known for their hit single "Black Denim Trousers and Motorcycle Boots", they were distinctive for their pop-oriented approach to traditional doo-wop, with a focus on catchy, story-driven lyrics. Despite their relatively short-lived career, their style and narrative songwriting approach made a significant contribution to the evolution of popular music in the decades that followed. The group included notable members Sue Allen, Bert Convy, and Gil Garfield.
