The Cretones were an American power pop group active in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Led by musician and songwriter Mark Goldenberg, their music is characterized by catchy melodies, tight harmonies, and a rock energy. Although they only released two albums, their work attracted the attention of Linda Ronstadt, who covered several of their songs on her platinum-selling album, "Mad Love". Despite their short lifespan, the band made a significant contribution to the power pop genre and helped shape the sound of early 80s mainstream rock.
