The Cryan' Shames is a 1960s American garage rock band known for their harmony-driven pop sound, which was heavily influenced by British Invasion bands. Formed in Chicago in 1966, the group included notable members such as Tom Doody ("Toad") and Jim Fairs, and they gained recognition with their cover of The Searchers' "Sugar and Spice." Although they never truly broke out nationally, The Cryan' Shames had significant regional success in the Midwest, and their work has since been recognized as a notable contribution to the garage rock and 60s pop rock landscape.
