Formed in Detroit, Michigan, the original line-up consisted of Saundra Edwards, Johnny Dawson, Cleo "Duke" Miller, and Norman McLean. Their most notable hit was "Heaven Must Have Sent You," a signature Motown sound that has been covered by numerous artists. Despite their limited discography, The Elgins have left a lasting impact on the world of soul music, particularly within the Northern Soul movement.
