The Elves were an American rock group active from 1967 to 1972, best known for their lead vocalist Ronnie James Dio, who later gained prominence with Rainbow, Black Sabbath, and his own band, Dio. Their musical style combined elements of blues, rock, and psychedelic music, showcasing Dio's powerful and distinctive voice. Although the band did not achieve significant commercial success during their existence, they are often noted for their influence on the evolution of hard rock and heavy metal, especially through Dio's subsequent work. Their most notable recording is their 1972 album "Live at the Beacon," a key document of their energetic live performances.
