The Fifth Dimension is an American pop vocal group, primarily active during the 1960s and 1970s. Known for their fusion of pop, R&B, soul, jazz, light opera, and Broadway—a melange referred to as "Champagne Soul"—the band is best known for their hits "Up, Up and Away", "Stoned Soul Picnic", and "Aquarius/Let the Sunshine In". The original lineup consisted of Billy Davis Jr., Florence LaRue, Marilyn McCoo, Lamonte McLemore, and Ron Townson, whose harmonious blend contributed significantly to the band's distinct sound.
