The Five Americans were a 1960s American rock band, best known for their hit, "Western Union", which reached number five on the Billboard chart. The band was distinctive for their garage rock sound, characterized by organ-driven melodies and rich harmonies. Hailing from Durant, Oklahoma, they were led by lead singer and guitarist Mike Rabon, alongside John Durrill, Jim Grant, Jim Wright and Norm Ezell. Despite their short-lived prominence, The Five Americans significantly contributed to the music landscape of the mid-60s, blending pop, rock, and psychedelic influences.
