The Flock was an American jazz-rock band that originated in Chicago in the late 1960s. The band was notable for their unique blend of rock, jazz, and experimental music, and are particularly recognized for their use of violin in a rock context, due to the distinctive playing of band member Jerry Goodman. Goodman later joined the jazz fusion group, Mahavishnu Orchestra, further solidifying The Flock's influence in the genre. Their self-titled debut album, released in 1969, remains a seminal work in the jazz-rock fusion movement.
