The Golliwogs were an American rock band active from 1964 to 1967, notable for their garage rock and rock and roll style. The band was composed of members who would later form Creedence Clearwater Revival, including John Fogerty, Tom Fogerty, Stu Cook, and Doug Clifford. Known for their gritty, raw sound, the Golliwogs' most recognized works include "Fight Fire" and "Walking on the Water." Despite their brief existence, the band played a significant role in the development of the swamp rock genre and served as a stepping stone to the members' later success.
