The Intruders were an American soul music group most active in the 1960s and early 1970s. Formed in 1960 in Philadelphia, the band is most noted for being one of the first acts signed to Gamble and Huff's Philadelphia International label. Their distinctive blend of doo-wop, soul, and R&B, characterized by the strong lead vocal of Sam "Little Sonny" Brown, made them pioneers in the development of the Philadelphia Soul sound. Among their most notable hits are "Cowboys to Girls," which topped the R&B charts in 1968, and "I'll Always Love My Mama."
