The Lovelites

The Lovelites were an American all-female R&B group from Chicago in the late 1960s and early 1970s. Comprised of Rozena Petty, Ardell McDaniel, and Patti Hamilton, the group is best known for their hit "How Can I Tell My Mom and Dad," which showcased their signature soulful harmonies and relatable lyricism. The Lovelites were significant for their ability to blend elements of pop and R&B, while maintaining a strong emphasis on lyrical storytelling. Their influence can be seen in the wave of female R&B groups that emerged in their wake.
