The Newcomers were an American soul group from Memphis, Tennessee, active primarily in the 1970s. Formed by high school students, they were signed to Stax Records and had their biggest hit with "Pin the Tail on the Donkey" in 1971. Their music was characterized by a blend of soul, funk, and rhythm and blues, with a distinctive brass section that became a signature of their sound. Despite their short-lived career, The Newcomers contributed to the rich musical heritage of the Memphis soul scene.
