The Nice was a British progressive rock band that was active from 1967 to 1970. The group was a pioneer in merging rock music with classical and jazz elements, significantly influencing the development of progressive rock. Its most notable member was keyboardist Keith Emerson, who later co-founded the supergroup Emerson, Lake & Palmer. The Nice is perhaps best remembered for their daring reinterpretations of classical works, such as Leonard Bernstein's "America" and Tchaikovsky's "Pathétique" Symphony.
