The Nutmegs were an American doo-wop vocal group, renowned in the mid-20th century. Formed in Connecticut in 1953, the group comprised lead Leroy Griffin, James Griffin, Sonny Griffin, James Tyson, and Leroy McNeil. They gained prominence with their hit "Story Untold," which reached number two on the R&B charts in 1955. Their distinctive blend of smooth harmonies and rhythmic beats made them a significant contributor to the evolution of the doo-wop genre, despite their relatively short-lived mainstream success.
