The Paupers were a Canadian psychedelic rock band active in the mid-1960s. Known for their innovative blend of folk, rock, and psychedelic music, they were among the first Canadian bands to achieve significant success in the United States. Notable band members included Denny Gerrard and Skip Prokop, who later found success with Lighthouse. Although their career was short-lived, The Paupers' most influential works, such as "Magic People" and "Ellis Island," have left a lasting mark on the psychedelic rock genre.
