The Playmates were an American pop band, active from the mid-1950s to the early 1960s. Known for their novel, comedic style, they had a string of hit records, including the chart-topping "Beep Beep." The band consisted of pianist Chic Hetti (born Carl Cicchetti), drummer Donny Conn (born Donald Claps), and Morey Carr, all from Waterbury, Connecticut. In addition to their musical talent, The Playmates are remembered for their humorous lyrics and playful performances, making them a distinctive part of early rock and roll and pop music history.
