The Pretty Things were an English rock band, formed in 1963. Known for their raw and energetic sound, they played a significant role in the development of British rock and roll, and were at the forefront of the British Invasion and the psychedelic scene. Key members included singer Phil May and guitarist Dick Taylor, an original member of The Rolling Stones. The band's conceptual album "S.F. Sorrow" (1968) is considered one of the first rock operas, predating The Who's "Tommy" by several months.
