The Rivieras

The Rivieras were an American rock and roll band in the 1960s, known for their surf rock style. The group, composed of Marty "Bo" Fortson, Joe Pennell, Otto Nuss, Doug Gean, and Paul Dennert, is best remembered for their hit single "California Sun", which reached number five on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1964. Surf rock bands like The Rivieras were instrumental in popularizing the genre, combining elements of rock and roll with a distinctive reverb-drenched guitar sound.
