The Shackelfords

The Shackelfords

The Shackelfords were a folk-pop trio active in the mid-1960s, consisting of Lee Hazlewood, Marty Cooper, and Nancy Sinatra's nanny, Suzi Jane Hokom. Their sound was characterized by lush harmonies, with songwriting that blended elements of folk, country, and pop, often featuring deeply emotional themes. Although they achieved modest commercial success, they were highly influential in the development of the California sound of the late 1960s. Their most notable work is arguably their single, "The California Sunshine Girl."
