The Sparkles

The Sparkles were a notable American garage rock band in the 1960s that contributed to the evolution of psychedelic rock. Known for their distinct blend of fuzzy guitars and organ-driven melodies, the band's musical style was heavily influenced by the British Invasion. Their most influential work, "No Friend of Mine," became a staple in the '60s garage rock scene and has been covered by numerous bands since. Even though the band members changed frequently, the driving force behind The Sparkles was always founding member Stanley Smith, whose distinctive songwriting left a lasting impact on the genre.
