The Springfields were a British pop-folk trio active in the early 1960s, known for pioneering the "British Invasion" of the American music scene. The group included Dusty Springfield, later a successful solo artist, and her brother Tom, both of whom contributed to their harmonic, melodic sound. They blended American folk, country, and pop influences, and were one of the first British acts to achieve significant success in the US, with their hit "Silver Threads and Golden Needles". Their impact on the British music scene paved the way for the success of many British bands in America.
