The T.S.U. Toronadoes were an instrumental rhythm and blues band from Houston, Texas, active during the 1960s and 70s. Notable for their smooth, funky sound, the band is remembered for their contributions as the original backing band on Archie Bell & the Drells' hit "Tighten Up". Members included Cal Thomas, Will Thomas, Darryl Broussard, Peter Newman, and Clarence "Creeper" Harper. Their significant influence on the development of soul and funk music has rendered them a notable name in the annals of music history.
