The Waitresses were an American new wave band active from 1978 to 1984. Known for their distinctive blend of pop, rock, and post-punk influences, their musical style incorporated witty, conversational lyrics and catchy, complex melodies. The band, led by songwriter and vocalist Patty Donahue, gained significant recognition for their hit singles "I Know What Boys Like" and "Christmas Wrapping".
