Twistin' Kings

The Twistin' Kings were a short-lived American musical group formed in 1961, best known for their instrumental R&B album, "Twistin' the World Around". Created by Berry Gordy Jr., the founder of Motown Records, the group was crafted to capitalize on the twist dance craze sweeping the nation. Notably, the Twistin' Kings included members who later became part of the legendary Motown band, The Funk Brothers. Their music, characterized by a blend of rhythm and blues, was instrumental in popularizing the twist dance style and holds a noteworthy place in the history of early 1960s American music.
