Wide Boy Awake was a short-lived English pop band, active from 1982 to 1983, primarily known for their dance-oriented music. The band was a project of Kevin Mooney, who had been a bassist for the influential post-punk group Adam and the Ants. Their signature track, "Chicken Outlaw," became a minor hit and is characterized by its modern rockabilly style with a twist of new wave influences. Despite their brief existence, Wide Boy Awake's distinctive sound left a lasting impression on the UK's 1980s pop scene.
